80TH ANNIVERSARY OF POPPY APPEAL CELEBRATION

ETC company took part in the 80th anniversary of Poppy Appeal Celebration by implementing the projection onto the Wellington Arch in Hyde Park. First time in its 176-year history of the world-famous attractions London has blossomed in blood-red poppies.

To create panoramic projection ETC engineers used four 6-kilowatt projectors — two on each side of the arch.

Mr. Mick Worwood, project Manager of the Ace Consultants Company, appointed to implement the event by Rear-admiral Mr. Burns, head of the British Legion in Kensington and Chelsea, contacted with ETC.

At the idea of Mr. Burns the projection for a landmark monument in London will carry the emotional component of the event and will also help increase charitable receipts, a traditional part of the Poppy Appeal.

In order to ensure project success on the arch of Wellington, Mr. Burns collaborated with Colonel Mr. David Williams from the Poppy Appeal Organization and the Ace Consultants Company.

The company's designers, headed by Mr. Ross Ashton have developed a recognizable image that would be easily consumed by motorists racing at high speed through Constitution-Hill.

At the highest part of the arch on a blue background were written the words "We will remember them" — in tribute to those who fought and died during the First and Second World Wars.
